NAPLES

Named after the Italian city because of the shape of the bay, Naples is now one of the most flourishing and up-market towns in Florida. Situated on the Gulf Coast, Naples is about 110 miles due West of Miami, about 2 hours drive from Miami Airport.

Naples’ 5th Street and 3rd Avenue both have their share of top restaurants, shops, and art galleries. The town is also noted for its wooden pier, populated by anglers and pelicans and a wonderful place to watch the spectacular Florida sunset.

Close at hand are also the Philharmonic Hall and Art Gallery and the Sugden Community Theatre as well as both regular shopping malls and one of the largest factory outlet villages in Florida. There are also several specialist food stores selling everything from sage to sauerkraut.

Naples is also a very popular golfing venue with an amazing choice of over 80 courses within 10 miles

Busch Gardens in Tampa and the Edison Ford Museum in Fort Myers are in easy reach although the many attractions of Orlando are a four hour drive from Naples. Boat trips to see the dolphins and multi-million dollar homes on Naples waterways are always popular, as is a trip to Corkscrew Swamp in the Everglades.
